I'm trying to explore the C++ haystack implementation by jasondbriggs and have not understood the flow of the code and how the dictionary works, can someone explain the working? Thanks.

Check the sandstar version of it. We have put a lot more fixes like haystack 3.0 upgrade. You can run sandstar on it and see how the data flows too.
